Originally from Aintree I grew up around veterinary practice starting work at the Ormskirk surgery at the age of 13. Graduating from Liverpool University in 1987 I worked at Highet and Weinberg Veterinary Surgeons in West Derby until 1988. Then moving to Ormskirk I worked for Mr. Fitton until in 1990 when I bought the practice. I'm like a stick of rock, cut me in half and I've got veterinary surgeon written through me. I particularly enjoy surgery, ethically complex cases and the emergency and critical care work we provide. Outside of work I enjoy travelling, spending time with my family and entertaining friends. I'm told I make a mean roast dinner with my speciality goose fat roast potatoes!
I was born in Poland and graduated from the University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wrocław in 2014. I undertook internships at Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital in Canada, Arago Hospital Veterinari in Palma de Mallorca (Spain) and the veterinary practice in my hometown. I continue to develop my skills by attending conferences, CPD and practical training days. I achieved my certificate in General Practice Small Animal Surgery (PgCSAS) in 2018. My areas of interest are surgery in general, more specifically orthopaedics as well as coaching other vets in their professional endeavours. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my fiance, friends, studying and travelling.
I was raised on a family farm in county Kilkenny, where my family passed on to me an appreciation for caring for nature and ‘all creatures great and small’. A vet visiting was a ‘big deal’ to me as a youngster and I was determined to join their ranks in the future. I graduated from University College Dublin in June 2018 and joined the Barn Lodge team soon after where I have found great mentorship and guidance. With Liverpool being the ‘Capital of Ireland’ I've settled in well to the community. I follow the local football action and like to keep fit in my spare time.
