Did you know we are now able to care for a variety of farm animal species? This includes sheep, camelids (alpacas and llamas), pigs and more! We’re able to see clients across the region. Our circular boundary roughly speaking is from Formby to Tarleton to Wigan and then North Liverpool.Services include herd advice, sick animal visits, and routine treatments such as vaccination, parasite control and health screening plus much more. With further training and experience in camelids we are able to offer a comprehensive service to clients. Too often we see cats brought in with no microchip so this is a very welcomed change to the law!Today we’re celebrating the news that after years of campaigning by Cats Protection and our supporters, compulsory microchipping of pet cats has been announced and will come into force in June 2024 in England. More microchipped cats means more lost cats potentially reunited with their owners. Thank you for all your support in getting the government to take action! It’s international kidney day! Chronic Kidney Disease is extremely common in cats. The earlier we detect the disease the more we can do to help.#WorldKidneyDay Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is one of the most common conditions affecting older cats. 🐈 To spot the early signs, remember PIILL👇 Poor appetite Increased thirst Increased urination Loss of weight Lethargy 🔬 CKD can be diagnosed by testing blood and urine, so get older cats checked once or twice a year by your vet. 🩸 CKD cats are likely to have high blood pressure (hypertension), so this should be checked too. CKD is not curable or reversible, but support and treatment can slow its progression and help prolong and improve quality of life. 😺 Find out more at 👉 icatcare.org/be-aware-of-ckd-on-world-kidney-day/ Do you have a cat with CKD?
