IMPORTANT INFORMATION

From January 2023 we will be offering veterinary care to a new type of client. Farm animal care will be available both at the practice in Ormskirk and at your holding. This will consist of both routine and emergency care.

Initially we will only be able to provide care to the following species:

Sheep, Camelids (Alpacas and Llamas), Goats, Pet pigs, Poultry (backyard pets) and large exotics.

We are currently unable to see clients with cattle.

We do not offer veterinary services to horses. At the practices discretion we may be able to see donkeys but this is on a case by case basis for registered clients only. We do not carry horse vaccines and do not carry out equine dentistry.

Our services are available to registered clients only, this applies especially in emergency situations out of hours. If you think you may need our services out of hours then you must have previously registered with us and had a holding visit.

In general we operate a 10 mile radius from the practice in Ormskirk. This is illustrated on the map to the left. Holdings further afield will be considered on an individual basis and will have a visit fee surcharge.

Regardless of if you have 1 or 1,000 sheep we are here to support your enterprise. Agriculture is under tremendous strain and the veterinary visit should be seen as a welcomed one. With our traditional values but modern approach we can offer ways to reduce costs and improving efficiency whilst maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare.

With significant experience and training dealing with Camelids and Smallholders we are able to offer our expertise to all manner of creatures.

Lambing Preparation

Lambing is a busy and stressful time however it comes with great reward. Early intervention with a struggling ewe is paramount. The decision to intervene as soon as possible is the most important factor to live lambs. We make this easy by offering fixed price ewe caesareans inclusive of visit fee, time and drugs. We can also see lambings at the practice for a reduced rate.

Reducing antibiotic use at lambing time is a key priority and we can offer advice on the many ways in which this can be achieved.
